Sustainable, Responsible & Ethical — At Every Level

At the core of operations at Omega Renk Bearings Private Limited lies a commitment to conducting business in a sustainable, responsible, and ethical manner. Ethics are embedded in every interaction — with customers, suppliers, and business associates.

ORB consistently upholds the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct in alignment with its internal policies and governance charter. Beyond ethical business practices, the company is committed to leaving the planet better than it found it.

ORB has set an ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by the mid-2030s. To advance this vision, the company launched ORBIS — Omega Renk Bearings Initiative for Solar, a structured programme to expand renewable energy adoption.

This founding vision guides every decision at ORB — from the machines we source, to the energy we generate, to the ecosystems we protect on our campus.

Omega Renk Bearings Initiative for Solar

A structured programme to expand renewable energy adoption across ORB's operations — driving the company towards its goal of carbon neutrality by the mid-2030s.

2011

Net Zero Energy Green Building (NZEB)

One of its kind in Central India — LEED Platinum-rated office and factory facility accommodating 20+ personnel, state-of-the-art conference hall, 1,600 sq. m. assembly & testing space, and one acre of landscaped recreational area.

2013

1.5 MW Captive Solar Power Plant

ORB has operated a 1.5 MW captive solar power plant since 2013 — among the first in the manufacturing sector in Central India. Supports a zero-discharge, self-sustaining campus with vanadium redox battery storage for after-hours energy use.

2025

250 kW Rooftop Solar - Block 6

An additional 250 kW rooftop solar system installed on the newly constructed Block 6, expanding renewable energy generation across the facility.

Planned

Rooftop Solar Expansion — 250 kW → 850 kW

Plans to expand total rooftop solar capacity from 250 kW to 850 kW — a 3.4× increase that will significantly reduce grid dependence and carbon emissions.

Key Green Initiatives

Three Pillars of Sustainable Operations

ORB's sustainability model spans energy generation, water conservation, and responsible resource management — all embedded into daily operations.

☀️

Renewable Energy

1.5 MW captive solar since 2013, 250 kW rooftop on Block 6 in 2025, planned expansion to 850 kW. Vanadium redox battery storage ensures round-the-clock clean energy.

💧

Water Conservation

Integrated rainwater harvesting spans all rooftops — from administrative buildings to manufacturing sheds. Captive wastewater management systems ensure water reuse for gardening and landscape maintenance.

♻️

Resource Recovery

Among the early adopters of carbide recycling from cutting tool inserts in India. Machining chips are shredded and briquetted to reduce oil impregnation and improve material recovery efficiency.

Green Campus

A Living Campus. A Thriving Ecosystem.

ORB's green campus features landscaped lawns and native fruit trees that support a small urban wildlife ecosystem. The premises are self-sustaining and operate as a zero-discharge facility.

Advanced vanadium redox battery storage captures excess solar energy for use during non-sunlight hours — ensuring the campus remains powered by clean energy around the clock.

Additional measures are implemented to minimise light, noise, and air pollution — reflecting the founding vision of ORB to foster sustainable growth while providing a healthy, responsible, and future-ready environment for employees and the wider community.

  • Native fruit trees and landscaped lawns across the campus
  • Urban wildlife ecosystem — birds, pollinators, and native species
  • Zero-discharge, fully self-sustaining campus
  • Vanadium redox battery — clean energy after sundown
  • Light, noise, and air pollution mitigation measures
  • Preference for capital equipment from eco-responsible manufacturers
  • Supplier sustainability policies factored into procurement decisions
